The best frozen burger patties to buy in Washington
Well, here we are, more than halfway through the summer grilling season, and I haven't grilled a burger yet. What is wrong with me? It's not like it's that hard to grill a burger. I mean, come on now. You can take a burger patty right out of the freezer and grill it. In fact, there's a lot of people that prefer to do it that way. There are whole Reddit threads on where to find the best frozen burger patties for grilling?

According to msn.com,
‘In the spirit of keeping summer as relaxed as possible, we suggest keeping your freezer stocked with burger patties. The convenience can’t be beat, and no one can resist a charred burger right off the grill, especially if it’s topped with melted cheese. Plus, you can spend more time enjoying your guests and less time on food prep.’
There seems to be a certain amount of consensus on Reddit that the best frozen burger patty can be found at Costco, and I'm not sure I can dispute that. Costco has a good selection of frozen ground beef patties, and if you want to avoid beef altogether, they have other burger options as well, including one of my favorites, the frozen salmon burger Patty.

4 to choose from
When you shop at your local Costco, you'll see four different choices for Kirkland brand frozen ground beef burger patties. You'll find labels in blue. Green, red, and black.
Blue Label. This is a ground beef Patty with 75% lean, 25% fat. (75/25) You will find the 75/25 burger patties grill up nice and moist on the inside and remember the chef's motto? "Fat is flavor".

Red Label. This is ground sirloin. 1/3-pound 86/15.

Green Label. Grass fed ground beef. 1/3-pound 80/20.

Black Label. Black Angus ground chuck. 1/3-pound, 75/25.

The consensus on Reddit seems to land on the blue label as the best ground beef Patty for grilling, and it doesn't hurt that this is the least expensive of the four options available.
You don't need to thaw them.
Another thing to keep in mind is that they're easy to cook. Just make sure your grill is clean and really hot. Take them right out of the freezer bag and pop them on the grill. Before they go on the grill, don't forget to put some seasoning on there. (the patty, not the grill) When you throw that frozen beef patty on the grill, don't touch it for at least 2 to 4 minutes. Let it get some good grill Marks and then flip it.

At that point you just cook till it's done the way you like it. Stick it on a bun with your favorite condiments, or if you're on a diet, skip the bun.
