The first thing you need to know is that crumble cookies don't crumble. A coworker of mine got all excited about crumble cookies. She says, “Have you heard crumbled cookies in town? This is fantastic.” Well, I have no idea what crumble cookies are, so after three weeks of hearing about it I decided I gotta’ check this out.

Who's Behind Crumbl?

First, a little background. According to crumblcookies.com, “It all started with one big dream, two crazy cousins, and the perfect combination of flour, sugar, and chocolate chips. Crumbl was co-founded by Jason McGowan (CEO) & Sawyer Hemsley (COO). They both teamed up and dove head-first into the world of baking. After thousands of dollars in wasted dough, recipes that did not live up to their expectations, and cookies that are just plain embarrassing to them today, the two cousins decided to take their 'perfect cookie quest' to the people. They gathered feedback and tested recipes — a practice that is still part of the Crumbl process — until they created the world’s best chocolate chip cookie.”

Visiting Wenatchee's Crumbl Cookies

The Wenatchee crumbl cookies is found at 1304 N Miller Suite A. I stopped by there on my way to lunch today, took some photos, and then went in to make a purchase. The first thing I noticed was how wide open the space is.

Less than 5% is set up for sales, the rest of the space is set aside for baking and prep. When you first walk in over to your left, you will see two digital kiosks. That is where you place your order.

I decided to order the four-pack display. The touch screen display gives you a selection of cookies available that day, and you choose. I chose two semi-sweet chocolate chunk cookies, a caramel cake cookie, and a pumpkin Roll cookie. I used the kiosk to make my payment by credit card and as so many do these days, it asked me if I wanted to leave a tip. With tax and tip, it came out to $17 in change. To my way of thinking, that's a little much for four cookies, but they are very big thick cookies.

At this point I moved to the counter, and they box and bring me my cookies and then open the box and display it proudly. Yep, those are some nice-looking cookies. When I picked up the box to head out the door, I noticed that it was warm. The cookies are still warm. How does this happen? I get in the car, go pick up my lunch, come back to work, and they are still warm. I'm just a little bit amazed by all this.

The Crumbl Taste Test

I finished my lunch. Now it's time to taste. I decided to go for the chocolate chunk cookie, and even after sitting during my lunch, it's still warm. Honestly, the cookie is so big eating half of it would be more than enough. And yes, it is a very, very good chocolate chip cookie.

Now the question is, Is this cookie worth $4.78? And my answer is probably. Especially if it's an occasional treat.
