Is it too early to talk about Thanksgiving?
The answer is no, especially if you want a smoked turkey. (Smoke it, I don’t even know how to light it). Here is the deal, if you have not tried a genuine smoked turkey, you have missed out on something extraordinary.
A few years ago, I got one at Costco and it was good, but I thought there must be local venders that smoke them on site and offer a better value.
There are several places where you can get a smoked turkey and we are going to check out a few thanks to yelp.com.
Bob’s Quality Meats, 4861 Rainier Ave S Seattle, bobsqualitymeats.com
Jaynne L. Seattle, WA said in her Yelp review, “The owner, James (Bob's son) and his wife Thien are simply the nicest small business owners you will ever...uh, meet. Bring me your finest meats and cheeses!...as long as it's from Bob's.”
Better Meat, 305 NW 82nd St Seattle,
In her Yelp review Lola H. Penticton, Canada said, “Recommend is not enough. I'm lighting a prayer candle. Service is superb. Selection is incredible. And. Hot day outside. Cool day inside. Wow. Wow. Once again. Wow.”
Double DD Meats, 5602 232nd St SW Ste 104 Mountlake Terrace, doubleddmeats.com
Kim W. Auburn, WA wrote in her Yelp review, “I have such great memories about Double DD Meats! I've been going there for 55 yrs. I love that they still have the same feel as they did way back when.....
Thank you so much for treating your customers like they're also a friend.”
Shawn’s Quality Meats & Smokehouse, 23220 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd SE Ste 10 Maple Valley, shawnsqualitymeats.com
In his Yelp Review David H. San Francisco, CA said, “First time. Quality meats can be seen from the moment you walk in. Service was awesome. Super friendly and very informative. Ambiance is like your ol' school butcher market. Smoker in house, quality clean meats, friendly staff ... what more can you ask for?”
Owen’s Meats is the place in Central Washington for fresh and smoked meats. If you want a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, you need to get your order in starting at around late October to early November. The price of meat can change from week to week so I can’t give you an idea of the cost. In my opinion Owens Meats is the best, so they got my 5-star rating.
Try a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving, and if you can, get it from Owens Meats.
