As winter settles into Washington State, the colder temperatures and shorter days can often bring about a sense of gloom and lethargy, commonly known as the "Winter Blues." Washington is one of the states that suffers the most from seasonal depression

"Winter Blues" is also known as "Seasonal Affective Disorder" or SAD. It is believed to mostly be caused by the lack of sunlight during the colder part of the year.

As such it's not shocking to find out that Washington is in the top states that suffer from SAD. A recent SAD study from Mattress Next Day found that Washington is the third highest state struggling with the winter blues. Second place goes to New York while first place, unsurprisingly, goes to Alaska.
