The best desserts in Washington State.
October 14th is National dessert Day. I was wondering what the favorite desserts in Washington State are so let's see what we can find out. This time I thought I would try something different and did a web search on Bing. There are some issues with Bing for me but here is what I found.
According to onlyinyourstate.com there are 9 on the list but I will reserve the right to add more as I see fit. This list is in no particular order.
The "Dark Decadence Lava Cake" at Hot Cakes - Molten Chocolate Cakery: 1650 E Olive Way, Seattle.
The web site says, “Pair it with a scoop of ice cream and one of their shakes on the side and you'll be in paradise.”
The "Mt. Saint Helens" at Ice Cream Renaissance: 1925 Main St, Vancouver.
onlyinyourstate.com says “This dessert inspired by our favorite Northwest volcano consists of massive boulders (walnuts) that lie at the base of a honey vanilla ice cream peak. It'd dusted with volcanic ash (cocoa) and erupts with a molten lava (raspberry sauce).”
Bread Pudding at The Gingerbread Factory: 829 Front St, Leavenworth.
The web site says “you've got to try the cinnamon roll bread pudding. It's made with delectable pieces of cinnamon roll baked in vanilla pudding. You can get it topped with your choice of hazelnut or O'maras icing.”
Cookies and Creme Fudge at Northwest Fudge and Confections: 108 W 1st St, Port Angeles
onlyinyourstate.com “can you really go wrong with cookies and cream homemade fudge? We think not!”
S'mores Cupcakes at FROST: 15217 Main St #106, Mill Creek
The web site says “The menu here is full of innovative sweets. However, this adorably decorated cupcake is simply too delicious to pass up.”
Truffle-Dipped Rum Balls at Dylan's Cottage Bakery and Delicatessen: 118 Pacific Ave S, Long Beach
onlyinyourstate.com “The rum balls melt in your mouth.”
Creamy Lemon Wedges at Pure Bliss Desserts: 1424 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham
The web site says, “The creamy texture and fresh lemon zest in these creamy lemon wedges can make anyone's day a little brighter.”
Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes at Boots Bakery and Lounge: 24 W Main Ave, Spokane
onlyinyourstate.com “If you're looking for a cupcake that's a little more off-the-wall than your typical chocolate or vanilla, you can get unique options here. The cinnamon roll cupcakes are hard not to love.”
Red Velvet Cheesecake at Frost Me Sweet Bistro and Bakery: 710 The Pkwy, Richland
Sorry, no photo.
The web site says” When regular cake just isn't cutting it anymore, a sweet slice of red velvet cheesecake drizzled in chocolate is just what you need in your life.”
This list is not even close to some of my favorite desserts (if you have seen a photo of me, you know that’s true). But here are a few I love. First off,
The Heath crumble brownie from Sage Hills Bakery, 826 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee
It’s a double chocolate brownie with chips from a Heath bar sprinkled on top. Crunchy chocolate overload.
The Lemon Bar from Cafe Columbia at the Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee
This is not the traditional lemon bar that is almost a cookie. This lemon bar is thicker and has a creamy middle where the lemon flavor explodes in your mouth.
The Pecan Bar from Cafe Columbia at the Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee
Just think of it as a square piece of pecan pie, crunchy, chewie, gooey, it checks all the boxes.
Pumpkin pie and cheesecake are always winners.
Celebrate National dessert Day October 14th. Or any day for that matter.
