As I start this - A huge apology to Ezell’s Fried Chicken in Seattle. I’m surprised they didn’t get the honor of “Best Hole in the Wall Fried Chicken’ - according to Cheapism.com

The title of Best Hole in the Wall Location for Fried Chicken in the State of Washington goes to - The Park Inn.

Next time you’re in Spokane - make a point to stop by The Park Inn.

Located at the bottom of Spokane’s South Hill, right above the Spokane Hospitals (Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital & Providence/St. Joe’s).

The Park Inn, established in 1932, claims the mantle of oldest running bar in Spokane. All types of people (doctors, nurses, working class) and all walks of life come here for its laid back feel. What really put's it on the map - is its great kitchen.

My personal critique of a great bar it’s beer selection and pizza quality:

The default for after work/late night drinks and holiday friend reunions.  Perfect ambiance for a neighborhood bar, and the crowd is always fun.  Their locally famous pizza is the perfect beer companion, just don't take it home and expect to eat it cold the next morning - sooooo much cheese. -Lulu M. on Yelp

But…we’re here for the fried chicken, right?

Right.

I'm from out of town, but I'm writing this months later just because their fried chicken is so, so good. The fried bits are super thin but also super crunchy. The only unfortunate bit (or fortunate?) is that I don't live in Spokane, or I'd go more often. :/

I'm convinced. Take my money!

Don't be surprised if you see me, on a weekend, at the bar with an IPA and a plate full of Park Inn Fried Chicken and Jo-Jo's.
