Food at the park during the apple blossom festival, Wenatchee
The Wenatchee Apple Blossom Festival starts this Thursday. There are all kinds of things going on every day (and night) but the thing I always look forward to are the food venders in Memorial Park. I try to go every day that I can so I can have something different each day.
On Thursday there is one special vender that I hit first and that is the YC Café (from Cuc Tran in Wenatchee). They are my personal favorite. With egg rolls, teriyaki chicken on a stick, curry chicken over rice, pan-fried noodles, stir-fry vegetables, fried rice. They are part of Cuc Tran Cafe, 7 N Wenatchee Ave, Wenatchee, WA 98801. According to their web site www.cuctrancafe.com they are Wenatchee's only site for traditional Vietnamese & Pan Asian Cuisine and opened its doors to the community in 1978.
Cuc's first eggroll was introduced & sold from a “hole in the wall” on Mission Avenue & would soon become a delicacy in the Wenatchee area. The expansion into the current location in 1990 to the Doneen Building created an opportunity to offer a larger menu of delicious items and ongoing work experience for her 7 children. Loyal customers have become friends of the family and Cuc's well-known determination and hard work has translated into a site for opportunity, friendship, & delicious food!
The addition of the YC Café food trailer has made their food available at events all around Washington State.
My favorite meal from the YC Café is not on the menu. Curry chicken over fried rice. “The Uncle Dave Special”. If you are really hungry add an egg roll.
I don’t get to do “food in the park” again until Monday. What’s for lunch on Monday? You will have to wait to find out.
