I love movies. I love the big screen experience. I want to write this later and go to a movie right now.  What I have for you are the top 5 Christmas movies that I love. You will see some classic and not-so-classic films on the list. Let's get started.

#1

The Santa Clause from 1994

This is a fun film that you can show the kids and it has some jokes for the grownups too. It was perfect for Tim Allen and Judge Reinhold.

#2

Scrooged from 1988

One of the cleverest versions of Dickens Christmas Carol I have ever seen. It’s priceless and a little dark. The casting is spot on and that makes it for me.

#3

Die Hard from 1988

I think I’m seeing a trend here.

Yes, I know Bruce Willis says it’s not a Christmas movie but you know what? He’s wrong.

#4

White Christmas from1954

It seems like I wind up watching this movie at least once a year. It winds up on the TV schedule and I turn it on. I know it’s old and it seems a little corny but watching Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye work is great. I was watching it just before I started writing.

#5

Home Alone from 1990

The first one is the best one. Watching Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) revel in his solitude and then outwit a pair of dim-witted burglars is fun.

#6

Love Actually from 2003

This is another film I will watch any time it shows up on the TV schedule. It’s not a movie for kids. I like the way they take the multiple storylines and have them intersect with each other.

 (And a half)

Gremlins from 1984

No, not really a Christmas movie. It’s set in the Christmas season and it’s kind of a monster movie so how can you go wrong? Well, you could do a sequel that kind of sucked (in my opinion).

Look, I know there are many other great Christmas movies out there. Make your own list.
