Crews are hoping to see less fire activity when the cold sets in and there is higher humidity.

The U.S. Forest Service announced Tuesday that fire behavior is becoming less intense, and updates will now be provided every other day.

Due to an increase in forest visitors this Labor Day Weekend, recreationalists are asked to watch for fire crews and firefighting vehicles, along with minimizing any possible sparks created by tow chains.

Residents in those areas are advised to stay inside or reduce their exposure outside.

The Irving Peak Fire amassed an additional 400 acres since Wednesday evening, due to increased winds and dryer weather conditions.

The White River Fire has amassed 1,089 acres, and the Irving Peak fire has blazed through 1,829 acres.

Fire crews working are monitoring the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest for additional fires caused by this week’s thunderstorm activity.

Campfire restrictions are in place within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
